- Web Resources
There are many reliable sources available publicly on the web. Web sources can be great sources of information for the general public. The following are example online resources that are credible sources of information.
When looking at web sites for academic research, ask these questions:
- Author: Who wrote it? Is the author identified? Are his/her credentials listed? Can you contact the author?
- Purpose: Why does the site exist? Does it contain opinions or facts? Is the site selling something?
- Timely: How current is the site? When was it last revised? Do the links work? Anything outdated?
- Appearance: How does the site look? Are the design and graphics appropriate? Is the grammar and spelling correct?
