It's a Perfect Time to Play Video Games. And You Shouldn't Feel Bad About It. September 23, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

The New York Times | March 23, 2020

COVID-19 has led to many people spending a lot more time at home, and a lot of people have been searching for ways to stay busy. However, there's only so many dishes you can wash and loads of laundry you can do before you run out of basic household chores to keep busy. So, what can you do to stay occupied and avoid reorganizing your spice cabinet for the seventeenth time? The author of this article, Peter Sunderman, suggests video games. Though some might write them off as frivolous time-wasters, Sunderman argues that video games can serve an important role, especially in times like these. For example, while they can't and won't solve any of the problems going on in the world, they can provide limited, temporary relief. They also simulate work, and for some, the illusion of accomplishment is better than nothing at all. If you're interested in more of what Sunderman has to say, check out the article here.
