November 18 - Cats vs Dogs: Scientists confirm felines are better... from an evolutionary perspective

Independent.co | August 14, 2015

The debate between cats and dogs has been one which has long divided animal lovers. Scientists have now joined the discussion and confirmed that cats really are better than dogs... at least, they are when looked at from an evolutionary perspective. A study of ancient fossils has revealed that historically, felids (the family which cats belong to) have been better at surviving than canids (the family which dogs belong to). Often, this has been at the dogs' expense. Evidence showed that while cats played a major role in making 40 dog species extinct, there was no evidence of dogs wiping out any cat species. Surprised? December 2 - Ancient Religions and Mythology

Ancient History Encyclopedia | October 31, 2018

My public school education mostly focused on Greek and Roman mythology, with some Egyptian and Native American myths thrown in occasionally. Because of this, I have spent parts of my adult life furthering my knowledge of lesser known mythologies. For this week, we are focusing on ancient deities: the ones that we know and the ones that we should know. The Ancient History Encyclopedia has a collection of articles on Mythology.
