New Resources


Literature Online- (LION from ProQuest) LION supports researchers seeking information on various aspects of literature. This resource provides access to over 357,250 works of literature, poetry, prose, and drama; over 320 journals; 8 complete reference books; 899 poetry video clips; 38 Shakespeare audio plays; 230 KnowledgeNotes student guides; and 5,250 selected web sites.

Researchers can also access individual subcollections in LION here.

New Technology

Laptops
Laptops and other devices are now available in both campus libraries! The Midlothian library is currently offering Dell laptops, iPads, and Android tablets; Chester library is offering Google Chromebooks, Dell laptops, and Android tablets.

To check out a laptop or tablet:

  • Current students only
  • Current library card
  • INSIDE library-use only
  • 4 hour checkout
  • Student is responsible for entire cost of laptop if stolen or damaged. This may be over $1000.
  • Files saved will be erased when laptop is shut down.

VCCS Mobile App
Students and staff can now download a mobile app for John Tyler. Search for “Virginia’s Community Colleges” in the Apple App Store or Android’s Google Play Store to find VCCS Mobile. The app gives users access to John Tyler specific information like academic schedules, staff directories, BlackBoard, library resources, and more.
