    Printing FAQs
Why do I have to pay for printing?

    • Recoup some of the cost of printers, toners, maintenance and paper.
    • Reduce waste; encourage students to print only what they need.
    • Fairness. Students that use the service pay for it, rather than charging all students whether they use it or not.

I don’t want to pay to print - what are my alternatives?

    • Save your work to a flash drive.
    • Email your work to yourself.
    • Write it down! Sometimes a few notes are all you need.

How can I save money while using the printers?

    • Print carefully. Use Print Preview to check documents and sites before sending.
    • Print Multiple. PowerPoint can be printed multiple slides per page. Staff members are happy to show you how.
    • Print only what you need. Do I really need this? Can I use this in another form…or can I print just part of it?

Do I have to pay for copies I don’t want or don’t like?

    • The college cannot give refunds for printer malfunctions or unintended copies.
    • Print carefully.

    I don’t have any cash/only a $20/only a $50. How can I print?

    • Students may get change from the Business Office during regular business hours. Library staff cannot make change.
    • Financial aid funds cannot be applied to print cards.

How do I add funds to my ePRINTit account?

    • To add funds via credit or debit card, visit https://johntyler.eprintitusa.com/login.aspx, click on the tab for ADD FUNDS and follow the prompts displayed on the screen.  ePRINTit accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
    • Value is added in $5.00 increments with a maximum of $20.00 per transaction.
    • To add funds via cash, see library staff.

I’m a community member. Can I still print?

    • Yes.  Please see staff to set up an ePRINTit account.  Once your account is established, you may log into the ePRINTit kiosk like student users. Community members are responsible for adding funds to their account via credit and debit card.

I only have cash.  Can I still print?

    • Yes.  Library staff will accept cash for student ePRINTit accounts.
    • During the first month of implementation, staff will add increments of $1.00 or more to student accounts.  After the March 12, 2014, the minimum value accepted will be $5.00.
    • $10.00/day is the maximum amount library staff will add to student accounts.  Special arrangements can be made for print jobs costing more than $10.00.
    • Community members will be given one opportunity to add cash. After the first cash transaction, community accounts will be limited to credit/debit transactions only.

Can I print without adding value to my ePRINTit account?

    • Yes.  If you choose not to add value to your account, you can pay at the kiosk using a credit or debit card.  A .50 cent transaction fee is charged to each pay-as-you-go print job. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted.

I can’t remember my ePRINTit username/password. What can I do?

    • Student ePRINTit passwords are the same as your myTyler accounts.  Please see library staff if your username and password is not working properly.
    • Community members need to see library staff to reset your password.  Your username is the beginning of your personal email address.  Example: If you email address is johndoe14@gmail.com your ePRINTit username would be johndoe14.

    What file types are accepted?

    • ePRINTit accepts .DOC(X), .PDF, .XLS, .PPT, .RTF, .TXT, .PNG, .JPEG, .GIF, .TIFF, .XPS
    • If you have another file type, see library staff for more information on converting to an accepted file type.
    • Picture files must be printed at the kiosk using a USB drive.  Select “Print My Photos” at the kiosk to print graphic files.
    • Password protected files cannot be printed.  Be sure to remove password restrictions before sending documents to ePRINTit.

Is there any restrictions on file names?

    • Yes. File names must be a minimum of 5 characters and a maximum of 20 characters.
    • Some characters in your file may be changed to accommodate ePRINTit.

Is there a limit on file size?

    • Yes. USB files may be a maximum of 30MB each.
    • Online uploads and email attachments are limited to 15MB each.  An error message will be sent to a user if uploading a document larger than 15MB.
    • Please keep in mind that large documents will take longer to upload and appear at the ePRINTit kiosk.

My document failed to print. How do I re-release it or get a refund?

    • Refunds are not given by library staff.  If you have difficulties printing, please email mobilekiosk@eprintit.com for errors, refunds, or other troubleshooting questions.  For the best response time and processing, email ePRINTit from your myTyler (gmail) account associated with ePRINTit.  Please provide your ePRINTit username, the name of the document, the campus location, and kiosk where the problem occurred.
    • Toll-free customer service is available at 1-877-494-0222, but emailing ePRINTit is preferred and recommended.

Can I print on my own paper or on legal paper?

    • No.  Patrons cannot add their personal paper to the printer.  Legal size paper is not provided.  Documents formatted for 8.5x14 will need to be converted into an 8.5x11 sized document.  See library staff for more information.
